Harderwijk VVOG started the district cup with a victory. Visiting competition mate Veensche Boys became 1-2 for the formation of trainer Simon Cageling.
The first chance of the game was for the home team. Yannick Bouw, returned to the old nest after employment at Eemdijk and DVS’33, no longer got his foot against the ball, so it went wide. On the other hand, Mats Zwart had a chance on behalf of the Harderwijkers. However, the assumption of the striker left something to be desired, so that the goalkeeper Van Veensche Boys could bring save. VVOG managed to break the ban in the half hour. Daniël van Warven gave the visitors ahead with a slider in the far corner: 0-1.
After the break, Veensche Boys received a penalty kick from Arbiter Donners. However, the opportunity was not cashed in by construction, which shot the ball towards the residential area behind the goal in Nijkerkerveen. Moments later the hosts came alongside. Corné Parol worked behind Lars Reijnen: 1-1.
VVOG did not let himself be out of the field, Milan Reijerse and Colin Vennink brought in the lines, but it really didn’t play football. Yet the Harderwijkers managed to take the lead again. A great cross from Kafumba Cherif was headed in contrast by Mats Zwart: 1-2.
In the final phase of the game, Veensche Boys played everything or nothing, but VVOG stopped with the necessary art and flying work. Next Saturday, VVOG will play at home in the cup tournament. Then NSC Nijkerk comes to visit De Strokel sports park. The Nijkerkers won 3-2 against VV Zeewolde. VVOG will first take action on Tuesday. In Veghel, Blauw Geel ’35 is the opponent in the preliminary round of the KNVB Cup.
