Max Verstappen after an excellent performance in qualifying F1 revealed that he was behind some elections in the configuration of the car. Not everyone in Red Bull agreed with him, but putting on their own simply paid off.
Saturday qualifications for the Italian GP were another show of Max Verstappen. The Dutchman reached for his fifth Pole Position this season, which with the uneven attitude of Red Bull and the dominance of McLaren is a huge achievement. The prevailing master not only won the time trial, but also set a new track record and lap at the highest average speed in Formula 1 history.
What’s more, it was not a flashes related to, for example, a change in conditions, such as Leclerc on Hungaroring. Red Bull leader has already signaled his form in Q2, ending this part of the time in the lead. After the first series of journeys in Q3, he was also at the forefront of the rate.
The attention of the media after the end of the struggle caught something that Max said hot on the radio. It sounded as if he wanted to emphasize that a thing actually burned out.

During the meeting with Dutch journalists, the 27-year-old revealed what he meant. Yesterday inside the Milton Keynes team there were divergent opinions about the settings that should be used in RB21 on the decisive part of the weekend. Finally, Max put on his own, which was the right decision.
– Before qualifying, some people in the team wanted to try something different on the settings side, but I said that we should not do that – he said, quoted by Motorsport. – When I went to my room, I still saw that several people were dissatisfied with the selection of settings. However, I felt that we needed it, and this was fortunately.
– Ultimately, these decisions are made with many people, including GP and a few other people. Of course, I understand why some questions are asked and why others prefer a different direction. Only ultimately I sit in the car and feel some things. And this time I felt that a few small changes should be made that would make it better.

– We do progress on the side of the car and at the same time on the settings side, where we found a better direction – he added at a press conference. – We still have to look for the answer to the question about the race, because this direction somehow does not translate into Sunday. At Zandvoort I had a really good sense, but then, in the race, it was very bad. So I do not think that in the fight against McLaren it will be fantastic.
– The whole season shows that sometimes we can be in the front in a time trial, but in races it gets very difficult. It may still be possible on the tracks where it is difficult to overtake, but here you can chase. I expect a difficult crossing, but we take steps forward and we want it exactly.
Last season, the Italian GP was one of the most frustrating races for Red Bull. Now, despite some question marks, the situation looks quite different.
– We’ve learned a lot since last year. The car changed quite significantly, although this season we had a lot of balance problems. How good or bad was a question mark.
– Getting pole position here is a big deal. It was not always a good track for us. There was a disaster here last season.
