The German tennis players Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz left the round of 16 at the double competition of the US Open. The duo lost 4: 6, 4: 6 against Michael Venus from New Zealand and Yuki Bhambri from India. The Coburger Krawietz and the Frankfurter Pütz were four at the Grand Slam tournament, their opponents in 14th place in the seed list.
With the title coup at the ATP Finals last November, the duo celebrated its greatest success so far. When asked what the world-class doppel distinguishes, the 37-year-old Pütz recently joked to the dpa news agency: “We are quite old.”
On September 12th and 13th, the two will compete against host Japan with the German Davis Cup selection in the second qualification round in Tokyo.
