Insane transfer numbers unveiled
The transfer market has exploded in summer. New maximum values are achieved in all respects.
The transfer summer has significantly exceeded all previous records in both men and women’s football.
As can be seen from the official report of the World Association FIFA, more than eight billion euros ($ 9.76 billion) were spent in the men’s area. This corresponds to an increase of more than 50 percent compared to the summer transfer window in the previous year.
The previous record came from 2023 at just under six and a half billion euros.
Women also reach maximum brands
In addition, the number of almost 12,000 international transfers is a clear new record, which is 1000 more than in the previous year.
For women, the transfer compensation paid of a good 10 million euros ($ 12.3 million) is also a new maximum mark and are an increase of 80 percent compared to the summer window in 2024. In general, the 1100 completed transfers are also a record.
“The transfer market is booming in men’s and women’s football,” said Emilio García Silvero, FIFA legal and compliance director: “This development is remarkable one year before the FIFA World Cup 2026- as well as the increase in women who underlines the exponential growth of women’s football at club level.”
