On the evening of September 12th, Thuy Linh played the Vietnam Open quarter -final game against her opponent Nithiitrai (Thailand).
Previously, Hai Dang had left in the men’s singles, while Dinh Hoang and Dinh Manh also left in the men’s doubles. Therefore, Thuy Linh is the last hope of the Vietnamese badminton in this year’s tournament.
It should have been an easy game for the home player because she is in 18th place in the world rankings and her opponent in 80th place. But this lightness only appeared in the first set when Thuy Linh won 21:10.
In the second set, the Vietnamese badminton beauty suddenly stumbled. She made many unhappy mistakes and constantly lost points.
Nithiitrai also also showed a concentrated sentence, often with stop balls in difficult positions. This time it was Thai who won at 21:13.

At the beginning of the third set, Thuy Linh continued to have problems with inaccurate blows. Even when Nithiitrai was tired, the Vietnamese could not keep up so easily.
There was a situation in which Thuy Linh led up to 10: 5, but then took her opponent closer to the score of 15:18, 17:19. There was even a situation in which she was undecided and did not conclude, and Nithiitrai just waited to go over to the counterattack.
But in the end the Thai gave up on the net with a hooked blow. Thuy Linh won the third set with 21:18 and moved into the semi -finals of the Vietnam Open 2025.
It has come a step closer to the fourth tournament victory in a row. Thuy Linh’s next opponent is Korean Kim Min Ji.
