Two -child mother Elizaveta Gushchina, 45, was an extreme sports enthusiast. On Saturday, she performed a bungy jump from an 88 meter high chimney at a power plant in Pavlovsk, a suburb of Sankt Petersburg in Russia.

She had turned years earlier this week and the hope was a birthday present from her 22-year-old son Nikita.

Elizaveta completed the hope successfully and the video of this was posted on social media.

“A very large tragedy”

She then returned to the top of the 88 meter high chimney without a safety harness to take a selfie with her son. Then Elizaveta dropped the foothold, fell and hit a hard surface above the ground, reports Russian state media Ria Novosti. Her life could not be saved.

– She attached herself to a rope used for rope jumping, but did not set the necessary safe length. As she approached the edge, the woman slipped on a wet plank, fell and died, a source told Russian pure TV.

An investigation into the fatal accident has been initiated.

“Yesterday, under tragic circumstances, the experienced jumper and two -child mother Liza passed away. Elizaveta Gushchina, along with her son Nikita, is a member of our sports team. Now the entire team grieves this loss. It is a very large tragedy for us”writes Elizaveta’s Extreme Sports Club.
