Sports History & Facmed Olympics: A Content Writer’s Story

With enthusiasm, nerves and a good dose of competitive spirit, the first Olympics are held at the Faculty of Medicine, an encounter that marked the beginning of a tradition that seeks to join talent, effort and companionship. They were inaugurated on August 15 in the framework of the 10th Book of Health Sciences, with the aim of promoting sport in various disciplines and physical activity, since they allow students to be dismissed, live together among members of the different degrees and meet new people.

José Manuel Arriaga Espinosa, leader of the sports and recreational activities project, explained that the tournament is held from August to November 2025 on the football courts of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Chemistry. The disciplines that were included in these Olympics are: basketball, volleyball, chess, ping pong, football, tochito and Lima Lama, for which there was a first registration stage from August 7 to 19, but due to high demand, applications are still accepted with a deadline in the month of October to participate in chess activities, ping pong, tochito and lime.

On the other hand, he informed that so far students have been registered with the 5th grade and resident doctors, of which 390 in football, 160 basketball with a total of 10 teams, and 16 registered for the chess tournament.

These Olympics not only test the skills of the participants, they also show the power of teamwork and the importance of opening spaces that inspire new generations, so the award will be held at the Tapatío Méndez stadium and the football finals, Tochito and athletics competition will be played.

“They register in all our sports, we have workshops and activities, we can support and direct them so that they also go to the pool or some gym. Sport helps in all areas of health and the best award is their own health,” concluded José Manuel Arriaga.
