Sonora: Marijuana, Weapons & Stolen Vehicles Seized in Joint Operation

Hermosillo, Sonora.- The State Security Table of Sonora He achieved an important one Drugs, weapons and vehicles during a series of operations carried out in different municipalities of the State.

The actions were coordinated by the Mexican Armythe National guardthe Marina Secretariat, the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR)the State Public Security Police (PESP) and the Ministerial Agency for Criminal Investigation (AMIC).

In Hermosillosix sacks containing marijuana were secured, in addition to four long weapons, four loaders, 53 useful cartridges, a tactical vest, a ballistic plate and a vehicle with theft report. The authorities reported that these findings are part of a comprehensive strategy to dismantle criminal cells in the region.

As a result of the operations, 22 people were arrested in municipalities such as Yécora, Cajeme, Agua Prieta, San Luis Río Colorado, Caborca, Guaymas and Nogales.

16 arrest warrants and one of search were also executed, which allowed the assurance of nine vehicles – four of them with theft and one with armor -, 10 motorcycles, a short weapon, 86 cartridges, 13 loaders and various tactical and communication equipment.

In terms of narcotics, in addition to the sacks of marijuana, 757 doses of different drugs were seized: 410 of methamphetamine, 346 of marijuana and one of cocaine. 32 “parasite” types used for clandestine surveillance were also located and 120 pesos were secured in cash.

All detainees and insured objects were made available to the Federal Public Ministry to continue the corresponding investigations. The authorities reiterated their commitment to maintain constant operations in risk areas and strengthen inter -institutional coordination to combat organized crime.
