Rugby World Cup 2023: Quarterfinals & France’s Run

The last two quarter-finals of the Rugby Women’s World Cup will oppose New Zealand to South Africa and France to Ireland, next weekend, in Exeter (England), after overwhelming victories of New Zealand and Blue on Sunday.

The New Zealanders, double reigning world champions and 3rd in the world, finished at the top of group C by correcting 40-0 Ireland on Sunday, in their third and last group match in Brighton.

Already assured of their place in quarters even before this group final against the players in green, also undefeated in a group which also had Japan and Spain, the Black Ferns, six times world champions, will face on Saturday the “boks women”, severely beaten (also 57-10) by the French in Northampton.

The world N.3 will be the big favorites against a team from South Africa (N.10) which reaches this level of competition for the first time.

By finishing first in the group D thanks to its demonstration against the South African, France, 4th in the world, was offered a European duel next Sunday against the Irish, 5th in the world.

The first two quarter -finals, known since the day before and the last games of groups A and B, will take Canada (world N.2) and the Australian Wallaroos (n.7) on Saturday, then England (n.1) and Scotland (n.6) on Sunday in Bristol.
