The recreational team of Badmintonclub Hoevelaken also kicked off their competition on Thursday evening. In Putten it was not won (4-2 loss), but a number of parties could have just taken advantage of Hoevelakens. Lideke Wijnberg won both of her mixing doubles, with Hette Hempenius and Stan Kelder, and was so responsible for the only points. But in all other parties, Hoevelaken was not necessarily the underlying party. The last mix doubles by Brenda Brink and Hette Hempenius, for example, was only lost in a third game and other doubles were only narrowly lost. Paul Vreeman and Stan Kelder lost 24-22 and 21-14 and Hennie Straakenbroek and Brenda Brinda also lost in two games (21-15 and 21-19). Any encouraging start for BCH!
Both youth teams played in Renswoude on Saturday morning and in both cases the opponents were too strong. At Team 1, Kai Vreeman came in and he played an exciting game with Ronald Waaijenberg, but they did not win. Also in his ankle party he fell short (21-10 / 21-11), but a shame is certainly not because he had only played his first league match in the second team two weeks ago. Tibbe Viveen was (co-) responsible for the only two points. He managed to win his ankle in 2 games and also won the doubles with Ronald. Ronald also played a nice ankle party but just did not attract the decisive game (21-11 / 16-21 / 21-18). Youth team 1 returned home with a 6-2 loss.
Team 2 also had a hard time in Renswoude. Rita Abazeed immediately won the first game by winning the decisive game 15-6, but all other parties were unfortunately lost. Because Kai played with Team 1, Vigo Treffers was prepared to take his place. Without competition experience, Vigo played a few nice games and in his double party with Rita only narrowly lost (15-13 / 16-14). Rita’s last double game, with Abe Hempenius, was just lost. They had the second game for grabbing but they did not win. The end result was a 5-1 loss.
In two weeks the last games will be played in phase 1 and then the competition continues in December. The youth team will play on 11 October at 2 p.m. in the Ridderspoor sports hall.
