Real Madrid Pre-Season: Live Friendly on Realmadrid TV

Real Madrid basketball kick off the first of four scheduled pre-season friendlies today with its participation in the XIV Costa del Sol Tournament alongside Alba Berlin and Unicaja Málaga. Our team will face the German side this afternoon at the San Miguel de Torremolinos arena (8pm CEST; Realmadrid TV) and tomorrow they will take on the Andalusians at the Martín Carpena (6pm CEST; Realmadrid TV).

This will be the first test of a preparation period that began on 25 August with medical examinations and the first training session in the pavilion at Real Madrid City. The aim is to get things rolling and build up a rhythm of competition ahead of the official start of the 2025-26 season on 27 September with the Endesa Super Cup semi-finals against Valencia Basket/La Laguna Tenerife.

Maledon and Procida, two of the new signings, will not be available as they are playing in the Eurobasket. The squad will be made up of the available first-team players and several youth team players.

Real Madridalong with Unicaja, is the most successful team in the tournament with five titles. Today’s opponent, Alba Berlin, comes into the game with two friendlies under their belt. It is a completely revamped team, which has switched from the Euroleague to the Champions League after 24 years. Seven signings, 14 departures and a new coach, Spaniard Pedro Calles.
