The ATAQ archers, alias the sharks, are not lacking in success for the start of the school year. The archery club attracts each of its discovery sessions about twenty beginners. “The goal is to introduce our discipline, it is possible to come to several sessions on Saturdays in September before taking its license from October 1,” explains Franck Carriou, volunteer of the club. The ATAQ meets Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the Kerjouanneau room.
Arcs loan
First year archers are supervised by Thérèse Giroud Gloaguen. “We lend the arcs to beginners. Membership the first year (€ 200) includes the purchase of six arrows and a quiver. For second -year students it’s € 130 and they can acquire their arcs, we try to find them used good for competition, ”specifies Franck Carriou.
A competition in November
A renowned club in France, the ATAQ has sixty members including a dozen women. Sharks have already organized several French championships and continue to organize two annual tournaments, one outdoors in the spring and the second indoor in the fall. “It will be our next big meeting, on November 15 and 16, in the Kerjouanneau room. It is also often an opportunity for our new archers to live their first official competition ”. For the moment, the club is active four days a week in the Kerjouanneau room in a studious and relaxed atmosphere in the face of the targets installed at variable distances according to the experience of the archers.
