Opening ceremony National Plumfoot Championship, September 11 in Ho Chi Minh City.

This edition brings together nearly 200 athletes, men and women, from eight flagship teams in the country: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh-Ville, Dông Tháp, Huê, Bac Ninh, there Cai, Gia Dinh (Ho Chi Minh-Ville) and ZB Sport Hanoi. Competitors compete in 11 events: simple male, simple feminine, male double, female double, mixed double, teams of three (men and women), teams of four (men and women), as well as competitions by male teams and female teams.

According to Mac Xuân Tùng, secretary general of the Vietnamese Federation of Plumfoot, the championship is distinguished by a particularly high technical level, bringing together the best teams in the country as well as a large number of players from the national team. The objective of the Federation, through this competition, is to identify new promising talents in order to strengthen the national selection for the next regional and international tournaments.

Among the emblematic figures of the national team present in this championship are Ho Phuoc Sang (Ho Chi Minh-Ville), Pham Thị Tô Nguyên (Dông Tháp) and Nguyên Thị Thùy Linh (Huê). Their participation is not limited to raising the technical level: it also offers young athletes a precious opportunity to compete with elite players and to gain experience in the field.

The organizing committee stresses that this championship is also an opportunity to assess the quality of the training of athletes at local and sectoral level, while promoting a competitive environment to improve performance and enrich the players’ experience.

It should be recalled that the Plumfoot does not appear on the official program of 33es Southeast Asian Games (Sea Games 33). Thus, after the closing of the Asian Plumfoot 2025 championship last June, the Vietnamese national team continues its preparation, with the main objective of the World Cup scheduled for next December in Italy.

The championship will end on September 15.
