Paris FC Women vs Austria Vienne: Champions League Update

Paris FC is sentenced to a big performance next Thursday in Austria in Vienna to join Lyon and PSG already qualified for the league phase at 18 teams. For their first at the Jean-Bouin stadium, of course it was not the same atmosphere as for the Ligue 1 match between Paris FC and Metz (3-2) with sparse stands and some even not open.

But the Parisians did not, either, knew how to ignite the public during this first leg of the preliminary tour of the Champions League.

Coming to defend by relying on a rather athletic rear guard, the Austria of Vienna managed to contain the offensives of the PFC. Clara Mateo’s teammates above all missed their luck in the first period.

Kaja Korosec, certainly the best Parisian this Thursday, takes advantage of the failed exit from the Austria goalkeeper to dribble but an opposing defender saves the goal (13th). Paris FC also touched the amounts on Deja Davies (41st) and Clara Mateo (45th).

If Lorena Azzaro could have benefited from a penalty (49th), the rest was rather complicated for the Paris FC which was increasingly imprecise over the match. In total reconstruction with the departures of several executives (Thiney, Ndadonzie, Bourdieu, Bussy …) and the arrival of ten players, most of whom discover the European level, this team is still looking offensively.
