Packers: One Goal with Micah Parsons?

The Green Bay Packers have secured the services of Micah Parsons. This is a clear signal: the packers go all in. And anything but the Super Bowl would be a failure.

It doesn’t really matter how much Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, endeavors to beautiful the trade of Outside Linebacker Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. The question is not who won the trade, but at what distance the packers won it.

The two upcoming round picks and defensive Tackle Kenny Clark hike to Dallas, but the best-paid non-quarters of the NFL history according to Wisconsin wanders.

This is a clear signal, not only to the NFC, but the entire league. The Packers don’t want to win the trade, but the Super Bowl. And – a week before the start of the season – almost have to do that.

Green Bay Packers: Micah Parsons The missing piece of the puzzle?

If a team brings one of the best pass rusher on board the league, it doesn’t do it to “play a good season” and “maybe get into the playoffs”.

Nobody in Green Bay verbally formulated the goal of Vince Lombardi Trophy, but this trade is more meaningful than any interview could be.

The defense of the packers was already good: only three teams forced more turnover (31) in 2024, only seven teams had more sacks (45). It is hard to imagine that these numbers go down with Parsons at once.

Especially since an excellent pass rush can make it substantially easier for the defensive backfield, which should – and presumably also – have an influence on both numbers.

Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love remains a question mark

The “problem”, which is why the packers have not even been close to the Super Bowl for years, is rather the offense.

“Problem” is in quotation marks because the numbers actually look good. Eight best offense on points in 2024, fifth best rushing offspring to Yards. So what is it?

Also on the quarterback. Because Jordan Love, his sign of the team’s highest -paid player, before Parsons, is usually not there in the moments when he has to be there, as the fans would like. Or as his content of over $ 50 million would suggest. He is stagnated compared to 2023 – if at all.

His record against teams with Winning Record: 3-5. His balance sheet in the division: 1-5. While the former is justifiable, the latter is devastating. Before all because five of the six games were only decided with one score difference.

Of course, that’s not just all of Love. His young wide receivers also have to take a step forward and support their quarterback as best as possible. In the end, however, responsibility is the most influential position in sport: the quarterback.

However, the fact that the Packers do everything to pave the way to the Super Bowl is also a trust in Love.
