Overcoming Pain: Staying Strong & Moving Forward

It remains doom and torment at Manchester United. The fallen Premier League top club lost again on Saturday, this time in a painful way of Brentford (3-1). The criticism of Ruben Amorim is therefore increasing, but he is not worried about a dismissal.

The optimism after the victory over Chelsea was well destroyed by the punishment against Brentford, making United fourteenth state. The Mancunians only took 34 points in 33 duels under Amorim, who never managed to win two matches in a row once.

The British media therefore raised the pressure and asked Amorim about his position. “I am never worried about my job. I am not like that,” the Portuguese bounces back in conversation with the BBC. “It’s not my decision. I will do my best every minute that I am here.”

Amorim saw that his team did not dominate and went too much in Brentford’s game. “That was really confusing and all crucial moments fell to their advantage,” he analyzes TNT Sports. “The first goal was a long ball, we trained on that all week … Just like on standard situations. We knew that the long ball is their weapon and yet they got the chance. We have to do better.”

“We didn’t play our game today,” the former coach of Sporting Portugal supplemented. “We had some times control over the game, but it was more or less the same. We have to play our own game, not that of the opponent. They were better at that.”

Due to the defeat, the pressure is increasing again in the red part of Manchester. “That does not change and is also logical if you lose this way at such a club. It hurts a lot, but we have to move on to the next game.”
