(Puchong, 9th) In order to celebrate Malaysia’s National Day, promote the spirit of independence, and promote basketball exchanges and development, the Merdeka Cup basketball game was grandly held at the Indoor Basketball Hall of Hanmin Chinese Primary School from August 29 to 31, attracting basketball powerhouses from Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Putrajaya, Perak, Johor and Sabah to compete on the same stage, setting off a passionate National Day sports event.
This event is sponsored by Puchong 57 Sports Association. Since its establishment, the association has been named “57” as its core, which symbolizes the year of Malaysia’s independence in 1957, and symbolizes patriotism and spirit of unity. As one of the four major institutions of Hanmin Chinese Primary School, the association hopes to continue the spirit of independence through the movement and gather the strength of young people.
On the court, the team from the six states showed their superb skills and fighting spirit, and the wonderful moments continued: accurate long shots, rapid fast attacks, and tenacious defense, which won the audience’s applause and cheers. The competition atmosphere is intertwined with National Day joy, and the venue is filled with unity and enthusiasm.
Puchong 57 Sports Association hopes to combine patriotism with basketball enthusiasm through the National Day Cup, encourage more young people to actively participate in sports, cultivate healthy body and mind, and at the same time strengthen exchanges and friendships between states.
After several rounds of fierce competition, the Simpang Pulai team finally stood out and won the championship, demonstrating excellent team spirit and competitive level. The other teams also performed well, showing their style and friendship.
The organizer pointed out that the National Day Cup is not only a basketball event, but also a far-reaching celebration. Basketball ignites youth, and the spirit of independence unites people’s hearts. The association will continue to use sports as a bridge to promote unity and exchanges, and provide young people with more platforms to pursue their dreams.
