Montenegro Fans Demand Coach’s Exit After Czech Republic Loss

The 2: 0 win in Podgorici pushed the home team practically out of the 2026 World Championship.

The Media Media called Friday’s home failure of the local national team with the Czechs. According to them, losing 0: 2 practically wrote down coach Robert December from the fight for advancement to the World Championship 2026.

“Heavy defeat in Podgorici: The Czech Republic celebrates 2: 0 and discards ‘Sokol’ from the World Championship,” said Radio TV Crne Gore (RTCG).

The third Montenegrins lose six points to the leading Czechs, although they played less. The second Croats lack three points, but the bronze team from the last championship has a good match.

“It was clear that the duel with the Czech Republic was a turning point for our football team in these qualifying matches of the World Championship, but even this motivation was not enough to get at least a point at home – the Czech Republic in Podgorici celebrated 2: 0, practically depreciated our national championship.”

Montenegro has succumbed to the Czech Republic for the seventh time in a separate history. “The black series continues against the Czech Republic, Montenegro cannot qualify for the World Championship,” said Deník Páhje.

The Czechs went into the lead in Podgorici after three minutes, when Lukáš Čerz hit from a distance.

“The Czech Republic took the lead after three minutes of the game, the worm brilliantly checked Petkovič with a shot from about 25 meters. Montenegro was one step closer to equalization at one point, Bulatovič fired more than 35 meters after a corner kick.”

The Montenegrin press also recorded the displeasure of a part of the audience towards the coach. “Robert, go away – a few fans from the western grandstand came to the coach’s message. Will he happen?” She wrote.
