During Monday’s press conference, national coach Ronald Koeman Ruud Gullit congratulated on his 63rd birthday and made light comments about it. Koeman actively called Gullit outside of football (including as director at the KLM Open) and joked that he meets the former international everywhere, even while he shakes Máxima. He encouraged Gullit to watch football occasionally. Koeman noticed that Rondo panel guests, such as Marco van Basten who would rather wave, are not always aware of competitions. When asked whether Gullit can still be involved in the Orange team towards the World Cup, Koeman referred to Gullits Anekdote over Huis ter Duin and Zeist.
