The transaction amounts to 18.2 million pounds sterling, the equivalent of 21 million euros, according to figures disclosed by the British media.
At 23, Lammens only played one season in the shoes of a holder, the last, and his European experience is limited to a single Champions League match, in November 2023 against Porto (2-0 defeat).
In the press release confirming his arrival, Manchester United finds that he “made the greatest number of clean Sheets in Belgian pro League last season” and that he was summoned “for the first time in the Belgian national team in March”.
During the summer, Manchester United struck to strengthen his attack, completely faulty last season, but the owners of the English club had so far not put a penny for the goalkeeper position, yet identified as another weak point.
The beginning of the year presented the weaknesses of Altay Bayindir in light, who became a league holder, and those of André Onana, at fault last week during the elimination in the League Cup against Grimsby, a fourth division club.
