Luleå went down to Poland to meet Tychy in their last match before the SHL season. The Swedish champions were under some pressure after losing two of the three previous matches in the tournament. Heavily favorite in Poland, however, they got off to a really good start.

Already after just over three minutes, the 1-0 goal came via the Eetu Koivistoinen which hit the puck from close range.

However, it was no more than a minute before Hannu Kuru sent in the 1-1 goal behind Isak Sörqvist. However, Pontus Andreasson reproduced the lead to Luleå when he made 2-1 in powerplay 13 minutes into the match.

There was a 2-2 goal with just over five minutes left to play the first period. But after video review, the goal was removed due to a goalkeeper interference. Something that made the Polish team really dissatisfied. The situation was also followed by a real trouble where Isac Hedqvist was expelled.
