Luis Suárez, striker of Inter Miamiexpressed its apologies for the incidents of which it was part after the final of the CUP 2025 Leagues Seattle Sounders.
On August 31, Seattle beat Inter Miami 3-0 in the final of the aforementioned tournament and, once the match was over, incidents were given among the players of both teams. Suarez was in the eye of the criticism since he spit on an assistant of the team that was a winner.
This Thursday, in a statement published in his social media accounts, Suárez recognized his mistake.
“The first thing, I want to congratulate Seattle Sounders for the triumph in the Cup Leagues. But, above all, I want to apologize for my behavior at the end of the game. It was a moment of much tension and frustration, where the game was barely over, things happened that would not have happened, but that does not justify the reaction I had. I was wrong and sorry sincerely. It is not the image that I want to face the family, which suffers from my mistakes, or in front of my club, which does not deserve to be affected by something like that. I feel bad about what happened and I did not want to miss the opportunity to recognize it and apologize to all those who felt bad for what I did. We know that there is still a lot of season ahead and we will work together to be able to get all the successes that this club and all its fans deserve, ”wrote the Uruguayan.
