Jeremy Lin kept the basketball world in suspense for a few weeks in spring 2012, now the former NBA professional has ended his career. “This trip should never end, but I know it’s time”, the 37-year-old wrote on Instagram. Most recently, the Guard had played for the New Taipei Kings in China.

Lin, American with Taiwanese roots, had briefly caused a sensation in the New York Knick jersey. In his first five missions in the starting line-up, Lin got 136 points and thus exceeded the NBA record from Shaquille O’Neal (129). After the cheeky appearances of “Linsanity” there was talk in the media, but the excitement quickly subsided again. Lin pulled from New York via Houston, Los Angeles (Lakers), Charlotte, Brooklyn and Atlanta to Toronto, he won the title with the raptors in 2019. Lin played later in Taiwan and China. “I will stay the child forever, who felt alive every time when he touched a basketball.”
