KNVB Women’s Football: New Club Subsidies Announced

NOS Football

The KNVB will make an extra investment in the professional teams in women’s football in the coming years. In the next two years they will receive 100,000 euros per season from the football association, which hopes to stimulate the development of women’s football.

The scheme may then be extended by three years. The KNVB is considering that option in the coming period.

The subsidy from the KNVB, agreed at the General Voest Voetbal (AVBV) General Meeting, will go to all teams in the Eredivisie and First Division, with the exception of Young teams. Hera United, officially a professional club and participant of the Eredivisie since this month, is also entitled to the amount.

Women’s football teams must be able to justify that the edition of 100,000 euros will go to women’s football before they actually get the amount from the football association.
