Cruzeiro striker Kaio Jorge was suspicious of the Brazilian team after suffering an injury in the 3-0 win against Chile on Thursday night (4) for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Maracanã.
Kaio Jorge was on the field for 19 minutes and participated in the move of the second Brazilian goal in the match. He replaced striker João Pedro 31 minutes of the second stage.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) gave no further details about the injury, but said midfielder Andreas Pereira, ex-Fulham and currently at Palmeiras, was summoned to his place.
Now Kaio Jorge becomes a concern for the return game of the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Cup, against Atlético, in Mineirão. The cruise has a 2-0 advantage on the scoreboard.
The striker joins midfielder Matheus Pereira on coach Eduardo Jardim’s concern list. Cruzeiro’s shirt 10 felt a muscle injury in the left calf in the morning training of Friday (5/9), in Toca da Raposa, and could not complete the activities with the other companions. There is still no definite diagnosis about the possible injury.
