Joan-Benjamin Gaba Joins PSG Judo: Riner’s New Teammate

This time, it’s the right one. A year after the first discussions between PSG Judo and Joan-Benjamin Gaba, just after his two Olympic medals in Paris, the capital’s club and the judoka reached an agreement. World champion last June, the Ile -de -France was approached again by PSG, who found the right formula to recruit him. So he left his childhood club, the Judo Club Chilly-Mazarin Morangis (JCCMM).

At Paris Saint-Germain, Joan-Benjamin Gaba will notably find his compatriots Teddy Riner and Romane Dicko with the Champions League in the viewfinder. Last December, Parisians also won the first Champions League New Version, with a single mixed competition, in Montpellier.

The addition of Joan-Benjamin Gaba to the team should allow the club of the capital to continue playing the leading roles. A great surprise last summer, with his individual silver medal and his precious victory against Hifumi Abe in the team final, the Ile-de-France confirmed his talent to the world championships, where he was “a machine”, as he himself estimated.
