J&K Badminton Team Trials: Sgr Screening Results – Rising Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 19: The Screening Test for the J&K Senior and Sub-Junior Ball Badminton Teams was successfully conducted Friday at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar under the ‘My Youth My Pride’ initiative of the J&K Sports Council.

As per a statement issued here, the test was held for participation in the 71st Senior National Ball Badminton Championship 2025-26 and the 44th Sub-Junior National Ball Badminton Championship 2025-26, scheduled at Dindigul, Tamil Nadu from September 25 to September 28.

The selection process began with Selection Trials organised by the J&K Ball Badminton Association under the supervision of the J&K Sports Council on August 9 for the Senior Team and August 29 for the Sub-Junior Team at Gindun Sports Stadium, Rajbagh, Srinagar.

The shortlisted players thereafter underwent a 21-day Residential Coaching Camp at the same venue starting 1 September 2025. The camp provided intensive training and exposure under professional guidance to foster local talent and prepare them for the national stage.Today, the final screening of the teams was conducted by the J&K Sports Council Screening Committee, which included–Hilal Ahmad Bhat, Deputy Manager, Pologround Srinagar, J&K Sports Council and  Burhan Ahmad, Physiotherapist, KICOE J&K Sports Council, Members of the J&K Ball Badminton Association present on the occasion included– Arsheena Khan, General Secretary J&K Ball Badminton Association and Vice-President (BBFI),  Mohsin Farooq Khan, Vice President J&K Ball Badminton Association and  Zahid Mustafa Bhat, Member J&K Ball Badminton Association.

Other association members and reputed national players also attended and supervised the process.The officers and association members encouraged the players, wishing them success in representing Jammu and Kashmir with pride at the upcoming National Championships.
