The 2025 Jiangsu Provincial City Basketball Men’s Super League kicks off at Yixing Sports Center
On September 16, the 2025 Jiangsu Provincial Men’s City Basketball Super League kicked off at the Municipal Sports Center Stadium. 28 teams, including Yixing, will decide the semi-finals in Yi. In a focus match in Group A of the event that night, the host Yixing team defeated Jingjiang Jiangsu Yutian team with a “good start” with a 102:72 win.
The Jiangsu Provincial City Basketball Men’s Super League began in 2006 and is one of the top competitive basketball events in Jiangsu Province. This year’s league is hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau and the Jiangsu Provincial Sports Federation, and hosted by the Jiangsu Basketball Association, Yixing Municipal People’s Government, and Guannan County People’s Government. The league is divided into two stages: September 16th to 21st is the first stage, which will produce the top four teams, with the competition location in our city; October 2nd to 3rd is the second stage, and the top four teams will compete for the championship in Guannan, Lianyungang.
In this league, 28 teams from 13 prefecture-level cities, enterprises and institutions across the province signed up to participate. Among the players, there are professional players who have played in the CBA League, NBL League, and Super League, as well as high-level basketball players from universities and amateur basketball enthusiasts. During the game in Yi, 28 teams will present 56 games to fans at three venues in the Municipal Sports Center Stadium and the Gymnasium of Jiangnan University Dongqi Campus.
At the opening ceremony, Guan Jun, honorary president of the Chinese Calligraphy Court and honorary president of the Jiangsu Basketball Association, was awarded the title of Jiangsu Basketball Culture Promotion Ambassador; Hu Weidong, Hu Xuefeng, Tang Zhengdong, Zhang Cheng, Yi Li and other Jiangsu Men’s Basketball “Golden Generation” players were awarded the title of Jiangsu Basketball Promotion Ambassador; Hu Weidong, a member of the Chinese Basketball Hall of Fame, delivered a speech on behalf of the Jiangsu Men’s Basketball “Golden Generation” players; Jiangsu Men’s Basketball “Golden Generation” players presented signature basketballs to 28 participating teams.
