Huddersfield Cup Trip: Date & Time Confirmed

City will face Huddersfield Town in the third round of the Carabao Cup at 19:45 (UK) on Wednesday 24 September.

The match will be shown live for UK audiences on Sky Sports+, with a full global broadcast schedule to follow closer to the time.

We were drawn against the League One side last week after they got past Leicester City and Sunderland to reach this stage.

Owing to our participation in the Champions League, this will be our first game in this year’s competition.

It will be Pep Guardiola’s eighth meeting with the Terriers, having won five and drawn two of the previous seven.

The most recent encounter came in January 2024 when we were 5-0 winners in the third round of the FA Cup.

As for League Cup history, City won a replay 4-0 in 1968 after a 0-0 draw at Huddersfield – a tie that remains the only meeting between the sides in this competition.

City have won the League Cup eight times in total, with only Liverpool able to better that tally. Four of those successes came under Guardiola between 2017/18 and 2020/21.

As always, we’ll have full coverage of the tie on mancity.com and our official app.
