Harris Sharpe of Mauchline was playing in his first outside event and was placed in league five.
The youngster had an excellent day winning all six matches to finish top of his group and promotion to the league above.
Lexie Boland from Catrine competed in league one where she had a tough day losing 7 of her 8 matches however three of her defeats were by the narrowest of scorelines.
It should still be enough to see Lexie retain her place in the elite group.
Kayden Cook from Kilmarnock also competed, playing in league four and winning five of his six matches, finishing second in his section.
Tommy Milgrew heads up the Ayrshire Badminton Club, with sessions available at Barony Campus in Cumnock on Thursdays and Fridays, as well as at Grange Leisure Centre in Kilmarnock on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Tommy said: “This is an excellent competition that sees players grouped by ability rather than age, it is a particularly good starting point for players engaging in competitive badminton early in their careers.
“Harris has only just started primary five, so this was a great starting point for him.
“A special call out too for his Papa Davie Adams. Davie has been a great influence taking Harris to and from sessions and helping, not only his development, but other players as well.
“Davie is a great example of the positive impact parents and grandparents can have as volunteer helpers within our sessions.”
