At Club Brugge, the story of Gustav Nilsson is not yet over. Although it was decided internally that the Swedish striker can look forward to a new club, his future is still completely open. After all, a week before the Mercato closes, there is no concrete agreement.

Trainer Nicky Hayen pointed out that the choices are also made in function of the club. The young Furo is seen as a future spearhead in the attack and to offer him perspective, the lines must be clearly drawn. “We also have to think along according to the story of the club,” it sounded Het Nieuwsblad. Four center strikers in the same core therefore does not seem to be a sustainable situation.
Wait and see what the market brings
Yet Bruges remains pragmatic. Nilsson was not simply put aside this year and remains usable as long as he is part of the selection. Hayen emphasized that the transfer market is still open for a few days and that there can still be movement. If there is no solution, it does not have to be a problem: Nilsson can simply remain enabled.
