Golden Ball 2023: Winners, Ceremony & Details

All eyes will be riveted this Monday evening in Paris, the periodic capital of football on the occasion of the Golden Ball 2025 ceremony. Awarded by France Football magazine since 1956, the trophy is 69 years old the most prestigious, certainly the most coveted, of the world of sport.

Program, awards, favorites: we go over the overview of the main attractions expected from the high mass of football.

Where will the ceremony take place?

As every year since 2019, the ceremony will be held at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris (1st arrondissement). It will be presented by an unprecedented duo: the former Dutch footballer Ruud Gullit, Ballon d’Or in 1987, and the English journalist Kate Scott.

Who voted?

Voters are journalists. They were 100 for the male Ballon d’Or and 50 for the female golden ball. Each country of the Top 100 in the FIFA ranking (top 50 for women) therefore has a journalist representative who voted for the winner of the most prestigious individual trophy on the football planet.

Each journalist was to elect a top 10, each place of which gave points to the designated player. The first was awarded 15 points, the 2nd 12 points, the 3rd 10 points, the 4th 8 points, the 5th 7 points … Until 10th which brought in only one point. The player who collected the most points will be designated Ballon d’Or.

What prices will be awarded during the evening?

In total, 13 awards will be awarded during the evening.

Where to follow the ceremony?

Broadcast on the team, which belongs to the same group as the organizer of the Ballon d’Or France Football, the ceremony will start at 9 p.m.

However, the chain will hold a special antenna all day, with in particular at 5:05 pm the live revelation in the “Greg team” program for male and female rankings, from 30th to 11th place. The red carpet will follow from 7:30 p.m., and finally the ceremony at 9 p.m.
