SARONNO – Giuseppe Rosafio guest for the first episode of “from 0 to 30”, section of the “Paolino Master” YouTube channel, which deals with telling stories of sport and life champions.
An interview and a 35 -minute chat to meet the Saronnese Paralympic champion. “What child was Giuseppe? A shy child, the one on which everyone counted, everyone’s friend. And I must say that in adolescence it was always the case: with the company and friends I pulled myself a little out. I changed and become more extroverted with the arrival of my disability”, so Giuseppe Rosafio is told.
“Already in superiors I had vision problems, but inflammation came to diminish with a cortisonic cure – he continues – but towards the age of 26 he returned with great strength and I started to lose his sight, with the usual trips between hospitals and doctors. I was a very normal boy, you never think that anything can come on you. They seem to be distant things, not yours, then they arrive and say: now? All in the right way “.
There is also a question dedicated to Perla, the beloved guide dog: “Perla opened the outside world to me. With her I had to start rediscovering the city, she took me around. I thought I had to drive me, but in reality it was the opposite. On a rainy day, out of my house there was a small flowerbed where I took her to walk. And she at a certain point blocks, despite I pulled her. Because in front of me there was a huge Pozzanghera.
The passion for sport, as Rosafio tells, came over time: always a shy boy and in the background, when the disability hit him, his passion for sport arrived. “I started in Saronno, with a dinner in the dark. I met the president of the Blind Union who suggested to me to play baseball with him. I had never reasoned on all this aspect, but I decided to try: I started in Malnate with baseball for blind.”
A chat in which the athlete presents himself genuine, humble and always very open, telling himself at 360 degrees, also showing the world of Paralympic athletics under a different and new angle.
