Leaving in the Philippines to conquer a first world title, the French volleyball team must assume the sign of favorite which naturally sticks to him in the jersey, after his Olympic title in Paris last summer. This involves finishing in the first position of his group, and therefore winning in his third match in the competition, this Thursday against Argentina, to approach the knockout stages in the best conditions.
Especially since the unexpected defeat this Tuesday against Finland puts them in a delicate situation. The French now point to 2nd place in their hen tied with their Finnish executioner and to a point of Argentines.
Placed in group C, the Blues will cross with group F during the final phase. While a first place would therefore place them against Belgium or Ukraine, a second would probably force them to prematurely face Italy, holding the title … Earvin NgaPeth and his teammates would therefore be well inspired to dominate Argentina. This will not be an easy task, the seleccion being a regular guest of the world top 8.
The kick-off of the France-Argentine match is scheduled for Thursday, September 18, at 12 noon. The meeting will be followed live on the L’Equipe channel.
