A lot of Red Devils made a transfer last summer, but a few were also surprisingly just where they were. Certainly in the case of Malick Fofana that was very unexpected, because everyone assumed that he would leave Olympique Lyon.

Fofana did not make any transfer
After an excellent first full season at the French sub-topper, the 20-year-old flank attacker was coarse wild on the transfer market, while Lyon also needed money. A transfer seemed to be written in the stars, but did not come.
However, there were more than enough rumors about a transfer. Clubs such as Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Everton were mentioned as possible destinations. In the end of the Mercato, Manchester United would also have made a modest attempt.
Another year at Lyon
Bee RMC Sport Comes Michael Gerler, the general manager of Lyon, now with an explanation for the absence of a transfer. “Malick explained to us together with his management and his family that he had a very clear sporting plan. At the end of the Mercato we knew that that plan was to stay with us for at least another season.”
So it does not seem that Fofana is open to a transfer in January, despite the fact that there are already rumors about a possible winter departure. Inter in particular would like to bring in the young Red Devil. However, the Italians seem to have to wait until next summer.
