A record number of Flemish people is a member at a recognized sports club. That says Sport Vlaanderen in an annual report. In 2024 there were 1,462,542 sports club members, or 21.4 percent of all Flemish people. That is a slight increase compared to 2023. That growth is mainly due to the increase in the number of female sports members. There have never been so many young people and the elderly to a sports club before.
