Feyenoord Win, Ueda Scores: Eredivisie Update

Feyenoord has won Sittard in the Kuip of Fortuna and is now only a leader with fifteen points from five games. Thanks to goals from Ayase Ueda and Aymen Sliti it became 2-0.

Both goals are special, because for Ueda it means that he is now shared top scorer of the Eredivisie, together with Brynjolfur Willumsson. Sliti recently extended his contract until 2029 and awarded it with his second goal in professional football.

The game that was postponed in round three was largely played in the pouring rain. Around the competition there was attention for the death of Gerard Cox and Joke Bruijs.

Jaden Slory had a base place for the first time because Anis Hadj Moussa was suspended after his red card against Heerenveen. Furthermore, Van Persie opted for other backs and he chose Oussama Targhallin over Luciano Valente.

In the first fifteen minutes after the break, Feyenoord explicitly went looking for the 2-0, but Schoten van Quinten Timber and Sauer did not go between the posts. And Jordan Bos en Steijn also did not score from a nice possibility. After 64 minutes there was a big chance for Ueda, but the Japanese also failed to throw the game in the lock.
