“I would like to thank my supporters for supporting in the past two weeks, especially those at home, in Canada,” said Auger-Aliassime through a statement published by Tennis Canada.
“Summer was long and demanding on the physical and mental level,” he continued. “I must now rest and recover myself, which is why I will not be part of the Davis Cup team which will play in Halifax next week.”
As a reminder, the 25 -year -old athlete was blowing the world number 3 Alexander Zverev in the third round, Andrey Rublev in the round of 16, then Alex de Minaur in the quarterfinals, before giving in against Sinner to the US Open.
