FC Porto Young Italians: Dragon Force Experience

On the eve of the 17th anniversary of Dragon Force, 14 young Italians lived an unforgettable morning at the Portogaia Training and Sports Training Center. Selected in FC Porto World Camp in Italy and registered at the latest edition of the Youth Football Tour, the transalpinos stars were able to live with the athletes and the main squad athletes at the Blue and White Football headquarters, where they were welcomed by the compatriot Francesco Farioli.

Organized in many countries, FC Porto World Camps have approached thousands of children from FC Porto Época after the time and allow the club’s training methodology to disseminate all over the planet. Last year alone, the World Camps welcomed 1,500 participants from 12 nationalities.

The Youth Football Tours, in turn, allow these thousands of young foreigners to live memorable experiences at FC Porto facilities – from New Balance Park to Olival, passing through the museum and the dragon stadium.

These programs allow FC Porto to continue to assert itself as an international reference in sports formation: between 2024 and 2025, about five thousand young people had the opportunity to train according to the dragon methodology in Italy and in other countries, consolidating the global expansion of the blue and white brand.

Italy: a strategic link and of proximity
The relationship with the Italian public has been one of the club’s big bets. In just two years, through the partnership with Team Italia Sport Services (Tiss), 23 World Camps were organized on Italian soil, involving more than 1,300 participants.

In 2024, the 11 camps took place in cities such as Naples, Benevento, Rome, Verona, Tuscany, Misano Adriatico, Rivisandoli, Sestola and Sicily. In 2025, the number increased to 12 camps, covering even more regions: Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Piemonte, Abruzzo, Marche, Veneto, Lazio and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

These numbers also add up to two coaching clinics – training sessions promoted under FC Porto Football Sciences – held in Italy and have formed more than 100 local coaches in the blue and white methodology, reinforcing the transfer of technical and scientific knowledge.

Youth Football Tour: Italy and more
The connection to Italy was also reflected in the Youth Football Tour that, since 2024, brought about 60 players to live a complete experience at FC Porto.

These young talents, such as thousands of other countries from different countries, have trained and competed in spaces of excellence such as New Balance Park and Olival, visited the FC Porto Museum and the Dragon Stadium and also watched the first team games. A total immersion in Portista identity, which strengthens emotional and sports ties with the club.

A GLOBAL DIMENSION PROGRAM
Despite the strong presence in Italy, the World Camps and the Youth Football Tours are now truly global initiatives. Only in the last two years – with the help of partners such as Inspport, Sportmadness and TISS – involved about 5,000 participants from 27 different nationalities, with special emphasis on the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.

Through the World Camps, the dragons approach thousands of children and young people a year. With the Youth Football Tours, they offer unique experiences to international teams and participants. With coaching clinics, form coaches and multiply knowledge.
