Dr. Acevedo: Epilepsy Ambassador 2025 – Chile

We are proud to share that our President Past, Dra. Keryma Acevedoreceived the distinction “Epilepsy ambassador 2025” during the 36th International Epilepsy Congress held between August 30 and September 3 in Lisbon, Portugal.

This prestigious recognition is granted every two years by the International Office for Epilepsy (IBE) and the International League Against Epilepsy (Disase)and grant those who have developed a International contribution outstanding in the field of epilepsyassuming commitments “beyond the call of duty.”

Dr. Acevedo is a child neurologist and adolescence of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chileacademic of the UC School of Medicine and recognized specialist in pediatric epilepsy. With an extensive clinical and teaching career, it has led projects that seek to improve the attention, education and quality of life of people with epilepsy, both in Chile and internationally.

She is voluntary of the Chilean League against epilepsy more than 20 years ago and presided over its board between 2022 and 2025. She is currently vice president of the Latin American Committee of the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) and director of the Liche Ops/WHO collaborating center.
