Three summers – on September 7, 2022, Luka Dončič scored 47 points against France, with Eurobasket’s most successful in 65 years. The absolute record of 63 points – belongs to Belgian player Eddie on Ter.
In the first quarter of Sunday’s game, Slovenian made a serious application to beat his record. Donchich stood out with 22 points (2p 4/4, 3p 3/6, 1p 5/5) in 10 minutes, but his team took the lead with 29:11.
At the beginning of the next ten minutes, the guard received a three -minute rest. During this time, the Italians – Simone Fontekio, Marko Spis and Alesandro Pajola – felt the taste in three -point shots, with six shots from the half -time.
Donchich braked the Squadra Azzurra offensive, finishing the first half with 30 points – 50:40. In the introduction to the third quarter, Simone Fontekio reduced the gap, but Slovenian basketball players responded with nine points in a row – 59:44.
The breakthrough game continued. Nikolo Melli and Simone Fontekio with two long -range shots extinguished some deficit. A minute later, the Slovenians won several rebounds, while Allen Omich took the ball into the basket – 61:50. At the end of the half hour, Donchich’s partners increased their lead of 72:56.
The teams returned to the pitch as the theme of “A team”. Dončič was on the bench for another minute and a half, then missed the shot and made a mistake. The episode ended with Edo Murich’s unsportsmanlike note, a free -throw and a distant two -point shot of Danilo’s Galinars – 75:65.
Danilo Galinars reduced the difference to one -digit attack on the attack, while Nikolo Melli’s three -point shot brought the teams even more – 78:72. The next blow to Slovenia was followed by Martin Krampel’s fifth note – 78:75.
Simone Fontekio did not take the opportunity to level the score in the 37th minute. Clement Prepelich did not throw both free throws on the opposite side. The teams continued to exchange inaccurate three -point shots, while Fontekio threw a distant two -point at 78:77 113 seconds before the end.
Thirteen seconds later the offense against Donchich. The guard did not make a mistake – 80:77. Fontekio distance – miss. Donchich is entangled in Italy’s defense. Fontekio is the same. Violation against Dončič – 82:77. Italy’s last full attack ended with an inaccurate shot by Marko.
This is Luka Doncic’s fourth game with 30+ points at #Eurobasket 2025; the last player to have had more such games in a single European tournament was Nikos Galis in 1989 (5).

The two most intense tournament days are expected in the Riga Arena on September 6 and 7. The first four eighth finals (B2-A3, A1-B4, B1-A4, A2-B3) will be scheduled for Saturday, while on Sunday the top quads (D2-C3, C1-D4, D1-C4, C2-D3).
Lithuania will play against the strongest team of Greece and Israel in the quarterfinals on September 9. Turkey and Poland will play on the same day. The semi -finals are scheduled for September 12, medal games on September 14th.
