Derksen: Ajax Facing Double Player Departure

Johan Derksen is critical of John Heitinga and Alex Kroes. According to the analyst, the coach should never have come to Ajax this summer.

Heitinga exchanged the assistantship at Liverpool to become the head coach of Ajax, but is already under pressure after a disappointing start. “I think Johnny Heitinga made a very wrong choice,” Derksen says Greetings from Grolloo. “He was very safe as an assistant coach at Liverpool, that is really a world track. Liverpool has a team that no coach will break. He has overestimated himself: he has let himself spawn himself again for Ajax.”

Derksen is not only critical of Heitinga, but also on technical director Kroes. “An Ajax player had to come up with an Ajax player if necessary. I think the director immediately falls at Ajax because he brought in Heitinga,” concludes the former professional footballer and journalist.
