Winner of the Ballon d’Or on Monday, Ousmane Dembélé became the 6th French to win the prestigious trophy, after his illustrious compatriots Raymond Kopa, Michel Platini, Jean-Pierre Papin, Zinédine Zidane and Karim Benzema. A huge accomplishment that deserved a small tribute from the French team.
Didier Deschamps had already been the Blues spokesperson for their champion on Monday to congratulate their champion. In an interview he gave us, the coach said he was “very happy” Ousmane Dembélé, highlighting his “extraordinary qualities” and his “solar nature”.
But the French team wanted to go a little further. This Tuesday, with his equipment supplier Nike, they therefore announced the release of a collector’s jersey to celebrate this Ballon d’Or. It is a limited edition of the classic jersey, with a flocking in gold to recall this superb individual distinction. The price was set at 121.99 euros, five euros more than the original jersey.

With this 8th French Ballon d’Or, Michel Platini having won three, France is now at the top of the classification of countries. It equalizes with Argentina, which only needed Lionel Messi to leave with eight trophies.
