Deila Under Fire: Anderlecht Loss Fuels Debate

Ronny Deila is now active in MLS, on the side of Atlanta. The past few weeks have not been very successful.

Since his dismissal from the Bruges club just before the Playoffs which had allowed Nicky Hayen to straighten the team spectacularly, Ronny Deila has traveled well. The Norwegian coach had a lucrative stay in the United Arab Emirates, but the adventure only lasted 11 games.

Last December, the former coach of Standard And Blauw in Zwart has rebounded on the Bench of Atlanta. He thus rediscovered the MLS after his visit to New York City, from where he had joined Sclessin in 2022.

The beginnings were not easy, with only two victories in fourteen MLS games. The two row victories in May did good. But since then, the team has been struggling again: two successes … in 17 European championship games.

Stuck at the bottom of the ranking

Last weekend, Anders Dreyer (author of his 15th goal, not to mention his 17 assists) who came to freeze on Wednesdays-Benz Stadium. This time, Atlanta, however, managed to reply via a penalty obtained by the former Carolo Jamal Thiaré and converted by Miguel Almiron at the time of play.

Steven raised also played the 90 minutes of this sharing (1-1, final score). Sharing against San Diego is not dishonorable but Atlanta is now 13th (out of 15) at the eastern conference. Enough to put a little more Ronny Deila under pressure on the other side of the Atlantic.
