Living a great moment in the season, Cruzeiro again showed reaction power and beat Red Bull Bragantino 2-1, on Sunday night (9/21). With this result, achieved in Mineirão, the club secured the runner-up of Serie A in this 24th round and was closer to Flamengo.
Just as it was against Bahia, in Salvador, the fox was losing: midfielder Jhon Jhon opened the scoring, but the equalizer came in the first half, with midfielder Lucas Silva. Already the turn took place in the complementary stage, in a goal ‘cried’ from left-back Kaiki.
With this result, the Fox reached 50 points, against 49 of Palmeiras, third place, and 51 of the leader. The difference in points for the Rio team fell from three to one because the competitor drew with Vasco da Gama in Maracanã.
In the initial lineup, Cruzeiro coach Leonardo Jardim climbed his team considered a starter, as he had the return of Lucas Silva, who served suspension in the last round. Already the bench had two embezzlement: midfielder Eduardo and Ponta Luis Sinisterra, with physical problems.
The game
The start of the game for the home team was not the best. With the ball in the foot, Cruzeiro found it difficult to create plays and bumped into Bragantino’s defensive solidity; Crossings in the area were one of the only alternatives found.

The second half started warmer, especially for the starry club to go more hard to attack and arbitration complaints intensify. After pressure, the Fox managed to get the goal of the turn.
At 31 minutes, midfielder Matheus Pereira received in the bottom line, already in the area, and played for Kaiki, who finished his left leg. The defender tried to block under the post, but the ball eventually surpassed the line, to the delirium of China Azul.
Future
Without knockout tournament to worry now, Cruzeiro will have a ‘full week’ of training before the next commitment for the Brasileirão. The next game will be against Vasco da Gama, on Saturday (9/27), at 18:30, in São Januário.
