The 42nd edition of the Congo Basketball Cup, which took place from August 38 to September 11 in three cities of the DRC: Lubumbashi, Likasi and Kolwezi, ended with the coronation of the Basketball Club Ex Onatra de Kinshasa at the Gentlemen and the BC CNSS (National Social Security Fund) in female version at the BC Mwanga and BC Hatari.
This competition was a success because it brought together several clubs from different provinces of the country. During these few days of competition, the public and professionals have seen the quality potential of young Congolese.
After the closing of this tournament, Me Paulin Kabongo, president of Fébaco, expressed his satisfaction with the organization of the competition by expressing his impressions. He sends his congratulations to those who contributed to this success, and highlights the importance of the participation of the provinces which have never welcomed this event.
“Absolutely, we are very satisfied because first of all it is a first, we went from two cities to three and you saw that we have awarded the leaders of the entities who received competition in their respective city. I am therefore satisfied with the organization and I congratulate and thank everyone who got involved for this organization to succeed, ”said Paulin Kabongo
He encourages governors to support their representative teams, stressing that it is a legal obligation. Finally, he confirms that the champions of the current season will represent the DRC next year, because they lack time to prepare for the competition which begins soon.

And this is an opportunity to challenge the governors of the provinces once again so that they know that sports law forces them to take charge of their representative teams. If the private sector is the bottom, therefore the provincial authorities can do so too. Not doing it is simply ignoring youth and it’s not good, “he said

“So we are going to work with provincial deputies and even national deputies so that they can understand the governors that the central government takes care of the national teams and representative teams that go to African competition, provincial governors are also responsible, the obligation to take charge of their representative teams. It is the law, it is an obligation among so many others ”.
The Kinshasa clubs playing in the Kinshasa Basketball Provincial League Championship (Liprobakin) triumphed, leaving their competitors no chance during this competition which took place for the first time on three different sites.
