Chris Duarte: Unicaja Málaga Illustration – Dominican Debut

The Dominican forward Chris Duarte debuted this Sunday with Unicaja scoring his first points against Real Madrid at the closing of the Costa del Sol Tournament, where he received the ovation of the Malaga fans this Sunday at the José María Martín Carpena Sports Palace.

On August 26 he was presented in the capital of the Costa del Sol and twelve days later premiere arrived. Chris Duarte closely met his hobby at home in a friendly against Real Madrid with a lot of hardness and intensity where he ended up being the top scorer of his team with Tyler Kalinoski.

The former NBA had an immediate impact on the game. He entered 4:12 from the end of the first quarter replacing Kalinoski himself and played almost thirteen minutes in total where he turned 14 points with 2/4 into triples -one of them from seven meters that raised the stands -2/3 in two and 4/4 shots in free throws.

He participated in several sections of each room and his qualities were seen soon in one, challenging players of height and a lot of defensive capacity such as the Madrid Pivot Edy Tavares, before whom he put his first basket, with reverse and step back included to end with a suspension shot that started the applause of the fans.

Interestingly, he agreed on track with two other players of the Dominican Republic, the Cajista Tyson Pérez and the Madrid base Andrés, selection partner, friend and this rival year in the fight for the ACB League.

The meeting concluded in defeat for Unicaja by 82-89, but Duarte’s first basketball experience left many reasons to Malaga’s fans to excite himself with his new player, smiling on the court and with the personality expected of a pure scorer like him. (Alberto Fuentes, EFE)
