The former “Teen Mom” star Chelsea Houska made the first movement when he got his show, “Down Home Fab”, in HGTV.
She and her husband, Cole Deboer, were in the midst of the construction of her dream home from the ground and documenting the process on social networks through the Down Home Deboers Instagram page. More than 750,000 people followed their trip, and Houska thought it would be “fun” if they filmed the project for HGTV.
“It’s a bit funny because I put in his DMS. We were building our house and sent them one day,” Houska told Heavy in a telephone interview. “I deleted it immediately because I was so embarrassed that I would do that. That is not typical of me.” The message has just passed and the stairs went up, he continued. “And it’s so crazy.”
“Down Home Fab” has Houska as the main designer and I must as the project manager for six renovations at home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
It may be the first time that a renewal program has been carried out in the state of Mount Rushmore. I think so. There are no people who jump to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, but Sioux Falls is such a beautiful and smaller city and I think he is honestly growing and receiving the attention it deserves because it really is a great place to live and raise a family, ”said Houska. Dakota del Sur is appearing here, he added I must.” We have things to do. ”
The community of Houska and I must at Sioux Falls has supported “Down Home Fab” coming to his city. “Until now it has been so well received and has been good,” said Houska.
At the premiere of “Down Home Fab”, Houska and I must renew one of his friend’s homes, and “he definitely brought much more pressure,” said Debeer.
“You want them to be happy and we do not want things to be uncomfortable,” Houska added. Houska got fame as a single mother in “teenage mother” in the early 2000s. The spectators looked as they raised their older daughter, Aubee, 13, and fought for Co-Padre with her high school boyfriend, Adam Lind. Houska and Debeer gathered in 2014 and married two years later. They welcomed three children together: 5 -year -old Watson, Layne, 4 years old and Walker of June 1.
Children have some cameos in the debut episode of “Down Home Fab”, but HGTV focuses mainly on the house construction process.
Houska and Debeer moved away from “Teen Mom” in 2020 after a decade with MTV. Houska and Debeer fought with the budget
While they loved the process, Houska and Debeer met some hiccups when renovations. One thing they had to take into account was the budget given to each house.
“There is always so much that you want to do and you want to make all the client’s dreams come true. Sometimes you have to choose,” Houska told Heavy. “You can’t go as hard as you want because you have to stay inside the budget, but you do what you can to achieve all its main goals.”
There are also “unforeseen changes that cost money” that can eat in the budget, he added. It happens more than you think, he told Heavy. “You have to put that in the budget and affect the design and things you can get. Especially with Covid, there were some materials that we could not get, or sometimes it was limited in what we could choose. That was difficult.” Houska made fun of raning unforeseen obstacles. “Let’s just say: nothing goes as planned in a renovation,” he explained. “There are always some pivotant actions and some of Plan B.”
Ultimately, the couple was happy with the finished projects.
Each house ended up being so different, said Houska. “I just loved how everyone turned out.”
Houska and must be part of the HGTV family
Houska said it has been a “dream come true” to work with HGTV It is huge. The family is so supportive. I feel so proud to be part of HGTV and it was so crazy to see our names on its website, ”said Houska.
The mother of the four said they were excited when they were presented in a commercial with other HGTV stars.
“There was a commercial and it was the entire town of OG HGTV and then we were there. We were like jumping up and down. And we were like,“ Oh my God. We mix there with all the people who have been there for years, ”said Houska. I had
