The first choice in total of the last draft Cam Ward did not experience an easy day when it comes to the NFL with the Titans du Tennessee on Sunday.
Ward completed 12 of its 28 passes for only 112 yards and suffered six quarter bags in a defeat of 20 to 12 against the Broncos de Denver.
Sean Payton’s defense made life hard to the young quarters of the Titans throughout the game. Ward lost 50 yards during the six Broncos bags and six different players succeeded in the quarter bags.
Ward had the opportunity to save his day at the very end of the fourth quarter. With 59 seconds to do, the Titans had the ball for the last time at their line of 36. Ward launched three incomplete passes, two of which should have been captured by its receivers, and was the victim of a quarter bag in the fourth trial to end the match.
The Titans Botter Joey Slye succeeded in his four attempts at investments to register the 12 points of his team. The Titans only converted two of their 14 third tests against the defense of the Broncos, which limited them to 133 yards.
In his second season as a quarter starting from the Broncos, Bo Nix did not offer a great performance to raise the curtain in Denver. Nix completed 25 of his 40 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown. He was the victim of two interceptions and a breakaway.
Courtland Sutton, on a pass of 22 yards, and JK Dobbins found the goals for broncos. Dobbins succeeded in its first hit with the Broncos on a 19 yards race in the fourth quarter.
Helped by a 50 yards race, RJ Harvey was the leader in broncos with 70 yards on the ground.
Happy start for Hunter and Jags
Trevor Lawrence launched a pass of Touché and Travis Etienne ran for 143 yards to help the Jacksonville jaguars to defeat the Panthers of Caroline 26 to 10 on Sunday.
When he started in the NFL, Travis Hunter was used on both sides of the ball, but very little in defense. He made a six game plated on the ground.
In attack, Hunter captured six balloons for 33 yards. He could well have registered his first hit in the NFL, but Jaycee Horn succeeded in a superb interception in one hand while Lawrence tried to join him for a long game.
Lawrence completed 19 of her 31 passes for 178 yards and launched her pass of Touché to Hunter Long. Brian Thomas Jr was limited to a reception for 11 yards, but marked a touch on the ground on a race of nine yards.
Jacksonville’s defense contributed as much as Lawrence and the attack. The newcomers to Jourdan Lewis and Eric Murray made several big games, including a pass deflected by Lewis which enabled Foye Oluokun to succeed in an interception in the first half.
The jags were much better than the panthers, which were victims of two seats in the first half. In the second half, the panthers gave the Ballon three times to the Jaguars after two reversals on tests and another interception.
Bryce Young had another difficult opening match for the Panthers. He completed 18 of his 35 passes for 154 yards and was guilty of the three reversals of the team. He launched a pass of a touchdown to the Ballon carrier Chubbard in the fourth quarter.
Tetairoa McMillan was one of the only positive points of the Panthers in his first match in the NFL. He captured five balloons for 68 yards, two peaks at Caroline.
