The new badminton season is officially underway, and BCN rhoon 1 kicked things off with a hard-fought victory on the road.Facing Strijen on Friday, September 19, the team, despite missing key players Maria and Pascal, showcased strong camaraderie and skill. The club even saw a familiar face step in, with Marjolein from TFS Barendrecht lending her talents, a testament to the collaborative spirit between local clubs.
On the menS side, Mischa and Ewoud demonstrated they’re in top form, securing both doubles matches.While they faced stiff competition,notably in the second game,their determination paid off. The women’s doubles proved to be a nail-biter. Marjolein and Vicky battled through a thrilling three-setter, ultimately falling by a narrow margin. However, redemption arrived swiftly in the second women’s doubles match, where rhoon dominated, establishing a solid 3-1 lead at the halfway point.
The mixed doubles matches maintained the competitive tension, with both Strijen and Rhoon splitting the points, each claiming two victories. This balanced performance led to a final score of 5-3, a well-earned win for BCN Rhoon 1 and a promising start to their season.
